Gunday is an upcoming Romantic Hindi film, written and directed by - Ali Abbas Zafar and produced by Aditya Chopra. The film will feature Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra in lead roles.
The shooting of the film is held at Kolkata. According to sources, the film's story based on the lives of two small time thieves who later get involved in the coal mafia. The film will be released on 14 February 2014, Valentine's Day.

In August 2012, Ali Abbas Zafar revealed that the film is titled Gunday and set in 1970's
primarily where Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapor playing gangsters by the name of Bikram and Bala.
Earlier rumours stated that Katrina Kaif have a role in the film but director confirmed Priyanka Chopra play the lead role of actress and love interest of male actors Ranveer Singh & Arjun Kapoor.
Ali Zafar also commented that both the lead actors will be seen as Bengali's in the film.
Both Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor debuted with YRF banner in Band Baaja Baaraat and Ishaqzaade respectively. Lead actors, Arjun and Ranveer has been undergoing a lot of physical training to fit for the role.
Afterwards, veteran actor Irrfan Khan was selected for the role of an Intelligence agent in the film where Khan stated "I will be playing a 'larger than life' character in the film". Later actor Sushant Singh was hired for a cameo role in the film.
The film- was primarily shot in Mumbai at Yash Raj Studios followed by long schedule in Kolkata. Actor Ranveer Singh injured himself while shooting after falling from height ; he was rushed to the nearest hospital. During filming at Kolkata, some old native professionals were hired to create the set for a Durga Puja song sequence under the Howrah Bridge to gave it the realistic look of 1980's.
The production team turned back to Mumbai for the following shoot after finishing schedule in Kolkata. Priyanka Chopra will be seen doing a Cabaret number in the movie keeping vintage image. Bappi Lahiri (famously known as Bhappi Da) works with Yash Raj Films for the first time for this movie.
